ICPI Conducts Job Task Analysis

On March 22-24, ICPI convened a Job Task Analysis project funded by the ICPI Foundation for Education and Research to review the Certified Concrete Paver Installer credential and identify what an installer needs to know at one to two years into the career in order to become certified. The team of subject matter experts identified the required skills and knowledge an installer must have and developed a test bank for the certification exam. Coming soon, ICPI will need volunteers who are not yet certified to take the new certification exam for its pilot testing component. If you have installers who can take the test online, please contact Merry Beth Hall at mhall@icpi.org. Testing will take place in June.

Ultimately, this project will result in a new, validated certification exam and the redevelopment of the Concrete Paver Installer course to address the skills and knowledge identified by the subject matter experts. This allows ICPI to move forward, in time, with a certification that meets ISO standards. It also could lead to the development of an apprenticeship program for concrete paver installers, helping to elevate the profession in the long run.
