Course Spotlight: Concrete Paver Installer Course

The Concrete Paver Installer course is ICPI’s flagship program and is the basis for earning installer certification and sales representative designations. The course is available in a virtual format or through live in-person events, and a virtual Spanish course is also offered. In addition to installers and sales professionals, this course is an excellent overview of interlocking concrete pavement system installation for company owners, job superintendents, supervisors, crew leaders, and office staff.

• Safety

• Job planning and documentation

• Job layout, planning, and material flow

• Soil characteristics and compaction

• Base materials

• Edge restraints

• Bedding and joint sand

• Selection and installation of concrete pavers

• Maintenance and management

• Construction tips

After successfully completing the course, installers must submit an Application for Certification documenting a minimum of 5 paver projects and 10,000 sq ft of installation experience to earn certification. Sales representatives must submit an Application for Designation documenting a minimum of 1 year of paver sales experience to earn the Concrete Paver Sales Technician designation. Certifications must be renewed every 2 years.
